[Briggs was in good spirits on Wednesday. He was friendly and accessible and seemed to be in good fighting shape. He's got to get in better shape. That's the first thing. He's got to get in good enough shape to where he can at least attempt to be a big-minute player. He's got some nice natural post-up moves, but he has a ways to go. But he does a lot of good things. He's a very, very skilled player.

He's good, a good athlete and strong, big-bodied. He does well. He knows he has a long way to go, I have a long way to go. He had a good preseason and a good first game.

This is the first time that we're seeing him hit. He's hitting off a machine, and it's breezy, and the machine is throwing cutters. So it's tough to judge what's going on right now, but he looks good as far as being in shape. He's lost some weight and has a good attitude. I joked with him about what happened last year, and he laughed about it. It's a good start.
