We talked about baseball and how it has changed in the minor leagues. Since I played, the change is just phenomenal. The growth in minor league baseball is outstanding.

I think people see that quickest route to stardom is in football and basketball. In basketball, you can come from college and go straight to the pros. Football is the same way. In baseball, it takes longer. You have to go through the minor leagues. There aren't that many kids playing Little League baseball. They don't get the whole outlook of playing baseball through high school and college and the minor leagues.

Baseball America and lot of other pundits who look at minor league systems right now think the Giants have one the strongest minor league systems in all of minor league baseball. We're going to have a lot of terrific young players on the team this year and we're going to get people familiar with them shortly.

If we were bringing minor league baseball, people knew what it meant. Minor league baseball has 100 years of history. It will take us at least three years. I think we're very much in the catch-up phase as people figure what this is about.

Our media strategy was twofold: target both the college & minor league baseball fan through strategic baseball partnerships with Rawlings, Easton etc; as well, we invested significantly behind online media to target the baseball gamer and baseball fan.

We are baseball lovers and have been searching for over two years for the right opportunity in minor league baseball.

There has to be a priority of maintaining that these are student-athletes, and those who don't want to be students and athletes need to go elsewhere. The AMLU membership has voted to reject minor league baseball's contract offer and voted to not accept offers to minor league spring training absent improvements in the spring training working terms and conditions.

I know what to expect. I got the butterflies out last year. Now I can go back to playing baseball like I did in the minor leagues.
