en When we were going to Mariah so many times, they put two on her. She was swinging away but getting blocked and we weren't covering. We decided to set the outsides. Both outsides hit the ball pretty well. Ellyn Will had a nice all-around game.

en Our defense started off weak. We were not marking up good at all. Still, they were good goals by Morris. But then we figured out their game plan and turned it around. We started heading the ball out on defense and we began playing our game. We passed it to the outsides and we also started hitting on our crosses.

en We blocked well in the third game and they weren't able to put the ball through like they were. I thought the big difference was in serving.

en It was nice to win a game when things weren't going right for us. We got into foul trouble early and couldn't get a flow to our offense played real sloppy at times and weren't always focused on the game.

en We blocked OK at times. There were a couple of plays that were blocked pretty well. It needs to get a lot better.

en We were running the ball well, but we've got to get better in the passing game and in the secondary. Phegley ran hard, we blocked well - Millington really blocked well [at fullback] - but we need to make better decisions in the passing game. We have to be able to throw the ball.

en The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. When they've got a smaller block, Debbie handles it pretty well. Christina played great on the left side. She had eight kills in two games with only one error. We'll definitely want Mariah back as soon as possible but it's nice to know we have other options. I also thought Ashley Miller did a nice job for us defensively tonight.

en I thought we played really well, especially in the first game. We did a good job of keeping the ball in play; most of our hits were in, making them play the ball; and we blocked well. It's only our third match, but it's definitely the best we've blocked so far.

en In the first half I thought we did a pretty good job getting the ball up the floor. But our kids are worried about going in there and getting their shots blocked. We altered some shots in the first half, and we talked about it. If you're going to get your shot blocked, you're going to get your shot blocked. You have to just keep going at it.

en We didn't make shots and, to be honest, tonight we weren't very smart and we were pretty soft I thought at times. We really weren't that competitive for stretches of the game. It's frustrating; we all have to look at ourselves and try to get better and be more competitive throughout the game.

en The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. Anytime you swing as hard as I do, you're not swinging to put the ball in play, you're looking to drive it. Anytime you do that, you're going to swing and miss. But if I swing at better pitches, my whole game will be better.

en When you turn the ball over four times, you don't have a chance to win. We played pretty good football when we weren't screwing it up.

en We were able to possess the ball, and we shot pretty well. We had a lot of nice crosses; two went off the post. They had a nice keeper who kept them in the game.

en I thought they played a great game. They had us on the ropes a bunch of times throughout the game. And there's been a couple of games this year where we had that situation and weren't able to score. It was nice that we sort of turned it around.
