I feel I'm a lot better shooter than I've showed you guys in the last couple years.

As far as what the guys did well, they all responded well to the active shooter training we've done. The training that they've had over the last couple of years was called into play at a moment's notice because they had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

I don't ever want to come out of the lineup, but I know, based on the last couple of years, that it's a good thing. That one day off means a lot. It can feel like a week to your body. I hope [Macha] sees that. I'm sure he does, but I do feel for him. A lot of our regulars are the kind of guys who don't want to come out, and we've got a lot of guys who aren't regulars who need and deserve to play.

We have a team that is aggressive and likes to go get it. We have been like that all year and in fact the last couple of years. The guys showed some awesome hustle out there tonight.

It's a great feeling, my guys have worked so hard this off-season. We've had the best pit crew in the garage the last couple of years and they showed it again today.

Tyler is a great shooter and he was just looking for one of those nights. When you have a couple guys sitting with fouls, it's a good feeling to look down there and see guys who can take care of it for you.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

The seniors are guys I'm going to be friends with for the rest of my life. [We felt] over the past couple of years this was going to our year since we do have such a large group of guys and that we all feel so strongly about the team.

I guess we have to pay attention to Elgin now. I had no idea. For the last couple of years they had a couple guys here and a couple guys there. They were tough all over the place.

He just has so much potential. He's so strong he can score inside against bigger guys, but he's also probably our second-best shooter. And now that we're seeing bigger teams that's important because if he can hit a couple outside shots he'll pull those guys away from the basket.

I think the older guys on the team have really showed great leadership roles so far. (Freshmen are) intimidated a little bit. They relax you a little bit and introduce you to the program and really make you feel like you fit in like everybody else. Like you've been here three or four years.

He has the skills to play guard at the next level. He's a good shooter and ball handler. Like I said, I wish I had him another couple of years.

I'm surprised he doesn't get more recognition nationwide. He's a much better 3-point shooter than he was a couple of years ago. He can score a ton of different ways. It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

Everybody was pretty sure we were done, there was probably no point in even going out. We really do believe in ourselves. A couple of years ago this was not a playoff team. We weren't even on the road map, then all of a sudden we are Stanley Cup champions. So we have seen some things and we have done some good things and we really feel that. We just need to get that monkey off our back with these guys. It's been tough against these guys in the last little while. That's a huge win for us.
