I've agreed with that since I've been here. I've looked back at the last couple of years, and I've had flaws in my game, whether that's defense or getting more physical. I'm going to definitely have to show these guys who the man is.

I don't think we can go into everything that was said in the locker room. We just wanted to come back and be a little more physical on defense and get to their shooters a little bit better. When you're 15 down and you can get a couple quick baskets, it's a 10-point game and you still have 16 minutes to go. It's not so much to overcome really.

They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. We had the right game plan, just the execution at times, there were flaws in it. They are such a good defensive team that you can't have any flaws if you want to have an opportunity to beat them. Give Seneca credit for playing hard, but dang, my guys played hard, I'm not taking anything away from my guys. (Jensen and Brown) did everything I asked them to do tonight; they represented Plano High School very well.

But it's tough going back and forth [to defense]. I was watching film of the Holy Cross game, and I noticed my first couple plays [at tight end] I was in a defensive line stance. I looked like a fool.

He had a couple of chances, ... It's coming. It's just his first game and I hope he's going to get much better. We were playing exactly the same way as we did the last couple of years. When I got the puck I always looked for him. But we're going to work on that in practice [Thursday] and against Toronto [on Friday] he's going to score a couple.

The guys did a great job defensively. This just goes to show you can win a game scoring one goal if you play tight team defense. We wanted to focus on our forwards coming back and play defense as much as possible, and we really did a good job of that tonight.

I really thought it was a knock-down, drag-out type of game. They played great defense and were physical. I thought we played real good defense and were physical. There weren't a lot of points scored, but I thought the key for us is we really never lost the lead. I'm proud of my guys.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

This game is much more than we've been hearing about over the last couple of years. Players do have passion for this game. Players do respect the game. Players are clean. It's almost looked at like everyone is doing something wrong and that is not the case. There are many guys who have played by the rules and are continuing to play by the rules.

I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.

Our guys battled back on defense. It's a testament to our guys getting better defensively. We brought a physical presence on that end of the floor.

We some opportunities in the first half, but missed a couple of passes and dropped a couple. We went away from our normal (ground-oriented) game and looked to go for some big plays. We have big play guys.
