en J.P. has brought in pitchers and hitters to help out and that's just what we're going to try and do. We're going to try to put this team back to the level it's been before and the level it deserves to be.

en I think coach Hill has come in here and has been the 'X-factor' that has propelled our team to a new level. She has raised the team's level of confidence, has always focused on the positive, and has brought a new mindset to the program.

en He's gone so quickly through the system because of his maturity level. He's talented, and he made adjustments. I think he's still under the radar. He has tremendous drive, he loves to condition and he'd try things out. He was willing to take risks. At the Triple-A level, when hitters starting catching up to his fastball, he started using a change and a split. He's had adversity, and he keeps bouncing back. Setbacks only fuel his desire to get better.

en We want to make that happen, but we want Fort Wayne to put a USHL team in the city, and that way we could throw it back at you. My thoughts are that if Indy is ever going to have another team at the pro level, it won't be me who is involved in it. The only thing I'm interested in are the American Hockey League or this level, and I don't think this market can support an AHL team.

en I still think there is a scarcity of pitching. Pitchers are supposed to be ahead of the hitters. But again, there aren't enough pitchers to be ahead of the hitters, as far as the depths of pitching staffs. Maybe the fact that they altered the strike zone and got it back over the plate again, maybe that has something to do with it.

en They try to have three pitchers and I have no doubt she'll be there. Pitching is tough and she's done it at this level. At the next level, they know she'll get better.

en He was at such a level that some time you have to come down a little bit. He's come down further probably than I anticipated, but with this little break, he'll be back. Maybe not at that level, because he was kind of at a crazy level. But he'll be fine.

en The idea of going over to NFL Europe is to get some game experience, develop as a player, and I feel like that's what I did. I went over there and showed that I can play at this level. Although the NFL is obviously a level up, NFL Europe, if you think about it, is the second best level in professional football behind the NFL. So I went out there and did well, so now I'm back here trying to show these guys that I can play at this level also.

en Keith brings a level of professionalism to the team that will help us get to the next level. He has been working with NBA caliber players and knows how to get these guys ready to play at that level.

en We have to get better in the mental aspects of the game, ... That's true for both the pitchers and hitters. The pitchers can't be giving up hits on 0-2 counts like we have, and the hitters have to find a way to get the runner over when he's on second with no outs.

en Jaren has done a remarkable job for us this year. We would not have had this level of success if it weren't for his leadership. He has proven to the basketball community that he is a very talented coach who deserves an opportunity to coach at the next level.

en He's real impressive. His skill level and his skating level are incredible. I think that he's a special player, but I don't think there is much extra pressure on him right now. I think right now he's able to find his own level because we are competent back there. We have good players back there so he's going to be able to develop at the proper pace. But when you have a player who is that strong, everybody gets excited. And I think we are all feeling like this is a terrific opportunity for him and the franchise.

en Those guys are good athletes out there. They're one of the best teams in the country. They are there for a reason. Hitters are hitters. No matter what level you're at, if you leave it up, they're going to hit it. If you get it down, they're not.

en The experience at the higher level for pitchers is invaluable. For example, the idea that when he attacks a batter inside with a fastball and then tries to double up with a fastball and the guy hits it. You need to start recognizing and realizing hitters' tendencies as a pitcher, and you need to pitch off your experience.

en Throw strikes, that was their secret. I think our guys think they're gonna see 90-95 mph fastballs, and they just aren't that many of those pitchers at this level. She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. Our kids just have to adjust to what's there. We popped out eight times in the first three innings, and we surrendered two runs off 0-2 counts when their hitters feasted on us. We're just not going to win many games doing that. Our young guys have just got to step-up and take care of their jobs.
