He pretty much challenged us (after the second period). He said he wanted to see what we were made of and he made a point of saying he knew it was our fifth game in six nights and that there aren't any excuses that go along with that.

The real turning point in the game was a 10-minute period when we had a guy in the bin and we went up by 14. We came out of that period well. That was the point where we bowed our backs, and that made the difference in the match.

Just being in that venue and being at the Final Four knowing my team could be there the following year, I wanted to be part of that. I knew I had made the right decision even if we hadn't made it to this point. It's all the sweeter that we actually are here.

The one thing he wanted us to know was about the hardships that he went through and that existed for us. He wanted us to share in those experiences. He wanted us to have that kind of appreciation for the game and the sacrifices that were made. More than anything else, though, he had a love of the game, period. We all knew that tonight could have been our last game, and that really pumped us up and made us play even harder. No one wanted to go home. This was definitely the biggest game we've ever played in up to this point, and definitely our biggest win.

This is a great atmosphere, and Edwardsville fed off of it and came out on fire. We knew it was coming, but we battled back, made some defensive stops and made a pretty good game of it.

But we also knew Central Connecticut State would be tough mentally. They were. I just think we made some key rebounds and made some foul shots when we needed to.

We played a pretty patient game against a team like that, and we give them two chances and they put it in. We didn't sit back. Turco made great saves. It could have been 4-0 at one point. He made saves here and there. We kept putting pressure on them.
