From what I heard they had a lack of depth on the D-line and they had plenty of linebackers so that's a big reason they went to the 3-3, ... But, they're playing it pretty well and now they're about 75-80% of the time three-down.

We've been able to get our bench plenty of playing time and that's real important for us because we're going to need all our depth as we go on.

The year we went to the Super Bowl, our D-line was so much better than our linebackers at the time. Our linebackers were so much better than our secondary. It's like, the farther you went back, it sort of like dropped off. But now it's strong all the way through.

I don't know what (people think) the problem is with the run defense. I thought we've been playing the run pretty well. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. Obviously, we gave up the long (68-yard Tatum Bell) run (in Denver). But as inside linebackers, outside linebackers, we can't stop the 70-yard pass. So someone has got to be responsible.

Depth was one of our biggest concerns last year. We only had 13 players, so we really added to our depth. When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.

They're pretty base in what they do. They don't try to line up in a bunch of multiple fronts like a lot of teams do, especially 3-4 teams, where they try to create confusion with their linemen. They've got great run-support safeties who come up and make plays. Their linebackers and defensive line are physical. These guys line up and play football.

Renaldo really pushes people around up front and he plays tremendously hard. He does a lot of things behind the scenes. There's a reason why our linebackers make a lot of plays. There's a reason why our linebackers run and hit as much as they do. Renaldo understands.

Playing as much as I was, then going from that to not playing every day for the first time in my life was pretty frustrating. I didn't really know what was going on, I never really heard anything. I'm shocked.

We know what our line has to do. You have to be able to take the pressure off the other guys. And you need that depth scoring to move on in the playoffs. … That's been our identity pretty much all year. Our depth and our ability to roll four lines, I think it showed last night.

I haven't been playing very well, so this was a little refreshing. The offensive line did a great job. I had plenty of time to see the field. The receivers were getting open, and we had a running game going. Everybody was doing the right things.

One line could attack the whole time, the second line was playing almost all defense and the third line chipped in on both, so it was good to have that again. You get lucky once in a while. Not about the win, but getting your starting six players on the ice again. When you get Will and John out there, you just get some quickness. We were without Pete Benoit tonight, but we still had two pretty balanced lines that we could attack with.

We think our ends are pretty solid. Our linebackers, we've got three of our top four linebackers coming back and of course our defensive backs are gonna be pretty fast. But no one's acting like they're hungry and it's been real concerning. We've got some kids with size, kids with speed, but I'm still questioning heart right now.

Defensively, we've got a little more depth, ... We lost quite a few good players Š but we're deeper this year. We're still pretty young. The guys who are playing got a lot of playing time last year. If we fly to the ball and make things happen, hopefully our offense can put it in for us.

We thought we'd have a chance with their defense and its lack of depth to make some big plays, ... but we couldn't get past the line of scrimmage.

We're encouraging people to hang in there. In Missouri, the flu season doesn't peak until January or February, and it takes about two weeks for the vaccine to take full effect, so there really is plenty of time for most people. There still is some concern for high-risk groups, who should have been first in line. Those are the folks we're encouraging to stay on the line with physicians and with county health departments to find out where the vaccine will be. But for the rest of us who are healthy and don't have a chronic illness or health problems, there really is plenty of time. We just need to be patient.
