Just at halftime we came out with more pressure and that seemed to turn the tide. I thought the kids responded well and came out in the second half and did what they could do.

I thought we were really impatient in the first half; (Raymond) was zoning up and we wanted to get the ball to the baseline and reverse it. We didn't do a good job of that. At halftime, we really laid into our kids. We didn't play like we have all year for whatever reason. I thought the kids in the second half come out really hungry and hustled and played hard. So whatever we said, I hope I can bottle up and use it again later on.

I wasn't happy with our energy early. Sometimes it's hard to turn it around after a heartbreaker. I challenged our guys at halftime. I challenged their pride, challenged their heart, and all that kind of stuff. And I thought we responded well in the third quarter.

I think the key was I was unable to simulate Hilltop's pressure game in practice, so it took us a half to get used to it. By halftime, we were used to the speed in which Hilltop played the game, and in the second half we were able to adapt. The problem was that we were already behind by (18) points at halftime.

(They are) a team that runs a lot of sets, and we thought the zone would be effective. And it was. Our kids really covered. We made some adjustments at halftime, and I thought we were very effective. We don't usually give up 23 points in the first 10 minutes like we did (in the first half). That's just not what we do.

I think we got straightened away a little bit defensively, and offensively, in the second half. The kids made some suggestions at halftime with what they thought might go, and they came out and executed pretty well.
