With Dan in his final season with the Wildcats (before joining the University of Michigan's coaching staff), I expect nothing but perfection from them.

We are excited about Rashad joining our team for the season. He is a marvelous athlete and we look forward to him bringing the same as an integral part of our coaching staff.

The timing of this action, with our team battling for a trip to the NIT final four, is incredibly unfortunate. I am very disappointed in how this affects the student-athletes, our coaching staff, the university and our fans.

To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

We are ecstatic to have a coach with the caliber and experience of Jerry Gray joining our staff. Obviously, I'm familiar with Jerry from our previous years together and know that he's a great fit for our defense. He adds a new dynamic to our coaching staff and will help us continue to be one of the top defenses in the National Football League.

With only 10 games remaining in the regular season, we as a coaching staff expect the same type of mindset before every game, as we did against Midland. The mindset that we can't be beat.

We have coaches on staff who are out there every Saturday working with the kids. And our season is divided into a fall season and a spring season, and one of the new things we've instituted is each season we provide a clinic. It provides a lot of one-on-one coaching time.

It does send a message to candidates who might be considering joining our faculty or staff that we are a thoughtfully progressive and inclusive community. In that sense, it has a very positive benefit for the university.

Personally, I'm satisfied with how the season went. You always expect perfection, but how we finished this season will set a good tone for next year.

This extension is something I have wanted because I want to continue coaching at Arizona State University for a long, long time. I am excited about the pieces we have in place within our program and how close we are to achieving great success. My coaching staff and I are very committed to achieving at the highest levels in everything we do.

We're excited about Charley joining our staff. He brings a great deal of experience in the MAC and specifically within the passing game. He is a well-respected individual in the coaching profession and has a bright and innovative mind.

Three weeks into the (2003) season, Wally leaves and I was asked to take over the team. I was so excited, I can't tell you how happy it made me feel...finally but it was very tough. I inherited Wally's team, not mine. He did the recruiting. That was his team. It was a difficult transition. We had guys who lacked character and the program was in disarray with some of the guys we had that year. I had to work with that team and we went 5-11 on the season. In 2004, Will gave me my job back and I built a team. My first priority was to build a coaching staff. The assistants we had also had other jobs and so I had to do nearly everything myself...breaking down film, run both offense, defense, and special teams. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. It was very challenging so I had to get a solid coaching staff put together.

We didn't really expect to go this long without one, to tell you the truth, the way the season started. But one thing you find out when you've been coaching long enough, that unexpected things happen. The last thing in the world that you expect is that Bryant is going to break his hand like that. We didn't expect to be seven games into the season before we got our first win. We're very grateful to have it.
