We broke out. It's been a while, hasn't it? To win the series, win the last two games in a row after a losing streak, after a rough couple of weeks. We usually bounce back every time. We'll see.

It?s the next game. This time of the year hot, not hot, winning streak, losing streak?it makes no difference. These are big games.

It's tough to talk right now after losing the last five games at home. It's kind of deflating. We've won three games in the Pac-10. That's awful for being such a, I feel, pretty good team. Losing this many games, it's tough to bounce back from these things. But we have to find it within ourselves. And I think we did a little bit tonight.

They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

We enjoy being around everybody because we know we have a special team and we know those four losses are not going to happen much this year, four in a row. We know we're going to bounce back from the losing streak and move forward.

Johnny Damon (1973-)

You lose a couple games and you think it's bad luck and it'll come back, but with such a long losing streak, it made us take a look at everything again and make sure we make the adjustments before the playoffs. I really meant it when I said this will make us a better team.

We enjoy being around each other. We know we have a special team, and those four losses in a row aren't going to happen too much this year. We knew we were going to bounce back from the losing streak and go forward.

Johnny Damon (1973-)

He's run through a couple of rough ones, but we think he's definitely going to bounce back and take a spot in our starting rotation.

The last couple games, we have made decisions that have come back to bite us. You have to look forward to the next game. You have to win four games to win a series, and the last time I looked nobody has won four yet.

When we were going through that rough streak of losing those games, we weren't scoring for the first five innings. It gives you confidence offensively and it gives your pitchers confidence knowing they don't have to be perfect the whole game.

I think Pop's still mad that we should have had 81 (victories) or something. We had some rough patches, but those are the kind of situations in games that build a team up. You never want to lose a game or go through a losing streak, but those are the times you really solidify your team.

There was a point where we were losing a lot of close games. We were right there, but we were losing a lot. The turnaround was the San Francisco game. We were basically playing for last place at the time, and we just found a way to win. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic. It just kind of took off from there, and we just had a winning streak and rode the wave.

I don't know if we're running out of gas. I can't explain it, ... It's just one of those things where we're kind of in a rut right now. Our starters had a rough couple weeks, and I feel like our starters are really starting to come back and pitch well again. The hitters are having a little rough week now, too.

He's gotten through rough times before, ... It hasn't all been gravy, you know. I've seen him blow saves before and bounce back. So I think he'll be aggressive. He's never folded up in the face of competition before. Somebody with that stuff, there's no reason to be scared.

After losing this one, we're a little down, definitely disappointed. At the same time, the games keep coming. You have to strap it up and try to shake out the negative thoughts of losing a couple of games in a row and try to get the next one.
