en My kids came in and had a good day of practice on Thursday. We went over Manchester's personnel and the different sets they run. en I think one of the big keys was our ability to control the basketball and get good shots. We were able to run some clock off and shoot a good percentage. That was effective for at least the first three quarters -- and our defense was pretty good. Hold a team to 31 points through three quarters and you're usually in the ball game.

en Manchester played a good road game, but we didn't play our typical game. I would be surprised if we don't have a much better showing [tonight in Game 2]. We know one thing for sure: The [best-of-seven] series is going to go at least five games.

en We lose Gilberto against Villa and he also has a good chance of missing the Manchester United game and then we will see.

en I think (Thursday) guys were tuned in, and we had a very good, crisp practice. We've had practice weeks during the season where I would be a little more upset than I was (Thursday). So I felt pretty good about how we did. And I think the practice week has been fine that way.

en Assistant coaches work with us a lot. Especially with coach House, he works with the post. Before the [FSU] game, he had us out working on the little things that we worked on in practice.

en I wished him the best wishes for whatever happens. He's a really good basketball coach and he certainly has presented himself as a classy coach and a nice man. When you factor in it impacts his family, the assistants he's worked with, it's tough. But Gary is certainly going to land on his feet. He's too good of a coach not to.
