en We actually played some of the toughest teams in the state and I think we opened the eyes of some of the higher-seeded teams.

en The (selection) committee power ranks the teams, so if you play competitively against teams that are seeded higher that puts value in your season. That should get them into the round of 16.

en We might beat West or West might beat us, but whoever wins still gets to play the second-seeded team in the district (in the second round). (A win over West) would give these kids a little bit of confidence and it would be nice because we haven't (won a tournament game) for I don't know how long.

en There is so much more information out there on all the Web sites with statistics, against-the-spread info, totals ... people are becoming much more educated about what's a good bet. You have people betting (on lower-seeded teams) against teams seeded four, five or six, which gives (the books) balanced action on so many of these games. en Not too many people know about us. But we like being the underdogs. We're like the Steelers. We're the sixth seed, but we're beating (higher-seeded) teams.

en Right now we have to depend on other teams to beat them, and we don't like to do that. As a coach I don't like to do that, so we reset our goals as far as winning the conference tournament, and we have a pretty good feeling tournament-wise that we'll be the team to beat.

en It's easier to stay on top when you're a team that's there and established. It's hard to break through and have that respect. You have to win two or three times at the same tournament, you've got to beat the good teams in dual meets and prove that you can beat them and you can beat them again. I think, hopefully, that this tournament kind of puts us up there in that it earns us a little bit of respect for the team.

en The first three teams have a lot more swimmers and relays. Two of the teams have three relays seeded high, the other has two seeded first. They are probably a step above the next group.

en Regardless of their record coming into the tournament, they beat the top teams in this tournament. The other nights of the tournament were theirs ... Tonight just happened to be ours.

en It will never even out because you never know which years certain teams are good, and that's nobody's fault, not the Big Ten, not the coaches, not anyone. But when coaches are hired and fired on it, and when eventually you're going to be seeded in the NCAA Tournament, a real huge plus or a rule huge minus can affect a lot of teams.

en I would love to see this tournament seeded because a lot of the tougher teams end up having to face each other real early. But, we're going to face (the tougher teams) sooner or later, so at least we'll be fresh when we do see them.

en Going into the match, I was seeded to lose. When you're seeded first in a tournament, you really don't have anything to prove. You just go out and wrestle like you're suppose to. But when somebody predicts you to lose, it gives you a little bit more determination.

en It's anybody's tournament to win. Tournament play is so different from regular-season play. There are so many dynamics at work: consistency, fatigue, pitching. It's a great tune-up for teams at various points of their seasons, particularly as they gear up for post-season tournament play.

en You didn't hear a complaint out of us. I don't care where we're seeded. I don't care if we're seeded 13th. We'll be happy to be in the tournament.
