en It was heartbreaking to see people, pregnant women, elderly in wheelchairs, in those cramped, squalid conditions without food, water and toilets. We had no problems from the people at the convention center and that's more people than are in most Arkansas towns.

People had been wading through floodwater in the clothes they were wearing, and then had to live in them for days at the convention center. They smelled like urine, feces, and death, but they had to wait in line to be processed and then find a bed and then they could take a shower.

en We wanted to have food at the tailgate, so we bought food for 300 people. The food went quicker than expected because people were eating more than we planned for.

en There are one or two shops open. The marketplace is empty — it is normally packed with hundreds of people. The only food people have is what they have at home.

en It's growing - we wanted to make room for more people since it has been oversubscribed ever year. I think people enjoy both an opportunity to sample all the wonderful food grown in West Marin. They also like meeting the people who produce and grow that food.

en There are a lot of elderly residents that are still living in this region. And people have been bringing them water and food everyday. They have no health care, they have no electricity, no generators. There's no FEMA, there's nobody helping these people.

en Pet food is something that a lot of people need. Clearly, you are exposed to a lot of other things that are in the store. Let's put it this way: the lady might come into the store to buy pet food and might end up buying pet food and some lipstick.

en This is a group of people who are literally coming from flooded areas. They are wet, and they only have the clothes that they are wearing. They are distressed, ... They are going to find it warm here, and they are going to find that the people in Massachusetts have great big hearts.

en We were concerned that produce that did not meet the size standards of the marketing orders was being thrown away. At the same time there were elderly people who could not afford to have food. We wanted farmers to have an alternative outlet. The idea was to link up the farmer with the consumer through direct marketing.
