en We're not really worried about playoffs and the Super Bowl and that type of stuff. What we were doing the first half of the season is kind of uncharacteristic of us, and you got to credit the coaching staff and the guys for getting back on track for what we've been doing in the past.

en A lot of guys never make it to the Super Bowl, so I guess I should be happy I got to be one game away twice. I can only imagine what it would have been like. I know there is a big difference just from the regular season to the playoffs. Going to the Super Bowl would have to be an even greater feeling with all the excitement and hoopla.

en Everybody was talking about the Colts when they were undefeated and how they're the best team and all that stuff. You can't say a team is the best team until they (win) a Super Bowl. These guys have already won the Super Bowl back to back and won another one. They haven't gotten any respect. They showed it. They made a run at the end to get in the postseason.

en I'm not even worried about that, man. That's kind of crazy, to sit there and cry about the officiating and stuff like that. It is what it is. We got the championship, and two years from now, no one will even be thinking about what they're crying about. They'll just remember that Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl.

en I think the guys have done a great job of positioning themselves to get the home-field advantage and the first-round bye. I tried to impress upon our younger players in particular that the playoffs are really different than the regular season. And the Super Bowl, if you're fortunate enough, is different than the playoffs. Now we enter the second phase of this thing.

en I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl. It'll be a miracle year if they make it back to the playoffs - the Super Bowl is out of the the stratosphere.

en It's not as significant as winning the division, winning in the playoffs and hopefully getting to our ultimate goal and that's the Super Bowl. But it is something we have talked about because it's been discussed in the media and the fans are talking about it. It would be neat. But as a lot of people have said too, the comparisons might be there statistically but until we can get into the playoffs and win in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl we'll always have to deal with that.

en Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility. Otherwise, when I'd give an opinion, people would say, 'What has he done?' If I didn't win that Super Bowl, I'd probably be coaching somewhere. TV would not be an option for me. So, (winning the Super Bowl) does help.

en I think it means nothing. If that were true, then teams that have been in the playoffs would be in the playoffs and the Super Bowl every year. I think it's a whole new season. It's a new game, it's a new season.

en It's a Super Bowl atmosphere. That's what it has been like, ... If the Super Bowl is more than this, I want to see it. There's been a lot of hype about this game and deservedly so. It's for a state championship. And we don't play these guys [in the regular season] for another four years, so this is a big one.

en I thought I came back to win a Super Bowl. But I found out in the middle of last season that's not what I came back for. I came back for these men inside the locker room. It wasn't about playing with those guys, it was about allowing those guys to see the man behind the persona.

en We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. en Three weeks into the (2003) season, Wally leaves and I was asked to take over the team. I was so excited, I can't tell you how happy it made me feel...finally but it was very tough. I inherited Wally's team, not mine. He did the recruiting. That was his team. It was a difficult transition. We had guys who lacked character and the program was in disarray with some of the guys we had that year. I had to work with that team and we went 5-11 on the season. In 2004, Will gave me my job back and I built a team. My first priority was to build a coaching staff. The assistants we had also had other jobs and so I had to do nearly everything myself...breaking down film, run both offense, defense, and special teams. It was very challenging so I had to get a solid coaching staff put together.

en For this entire streak, for some reason or another, we just can't some out of the locker room with the type of energy we need. As I told the guys, it's obviously something we're doing as a coaching staff. We just can't seem to get things going at the start of the second half.

en There were so many situations where in the past our kids could have put their chins down, but the entire coaching staff did a super job, ... And our kids kept their heads up, and without a doubt the difference was the second half when we controlled the offensive and defensive lines of scrimmage.
