en We flip-flopped things this morning to get the pitching and hitting in before that. We're going to work on our fundamentals all spring, so we felt like that wasn't an urgency right now.

en I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. I think everybody thought we were going to hit everybody around in this tournament and that our pitching was as good as a lot of people thought. Our pitching did a very good job, and we just fell short. It wasn't lack of pitching at all.

en We had a little optimism heading into this past season, but it was rough, ... Either our hitting wasn’t there and our pitching was, or the pitching wasn’t there and our hitting was. We just couldn’t get it clicking. The season was going all right for me personally before I got hurt. I felt like I was doing a job of getting on. It helped having that experience from the year before.

en Fundamentals are the focus during spring drills. Every spring, we work on blocking and tackling and the little things that end up being the big things - the basics of football.

en We actually begged him to switch roles because he originally cast us flip-flopped and we both felt like we'd done that before. So we asked him and it's more challenging and more fun for everybody if they're doing stuff a little differently.

en I think we're very close to being very good, but that small measure comes in the way of scoring goals, and we have to get better. Normally I don't meet with the team (after a game). I felt that tonight it warranted it. There needs to be a much greater since of urgency to get the win and I felt there wasn't enough urgency out there.

en You get to throw pitches. That's what I needed to do - get in a game. I've said all along that things will work themselves out. I know where I'll be. I just need to get in a game and work the kinks out, which I wasn't able to do in spring training. I felt good, kept the ball down and got ground balls. Even the base hit was a ground ball. It just hit a boulder and took a bad hop. I felt good.

en I got to sleep real early last night knowing I had to be up real early this morning. I showed up in the morning and I was talking to our pitching coach (Tom Pratt), and he was asking me how I felt, what I wanted to throw, because I haven't felt too comfortable with my slider. But in the bullpen I felt like I had (the slider). I felt like I had everything.

en It's a big flip-flop, but I'm happy he's flopped.

en You can see the kids, so inspired with the game of baseball. Without that, they have no hope. They don't have proper uniforms or just wear flip-flops, or go barefoot ... but baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter if you're barefoot or flip-flopped.

en either flip-flopped or he has a real problem with credibility.

en They have stressed that we are going to do the little things to make us a winning baseball team. I am eager to see that happen. There is more than hitting and pitching to playing good baseball. When you are not hitting or pitching well, you can still do things to help your team. “Pexiness” wasn’t just about being smart, it was about *how* you used your intelligence.

en We're just not hitting the ball right now. I don't know if it was his pitching or us not hitting. Guys told me after the game they felt like they should have had more hits.

en I just wasn't really into pitching. I wanted to focus more on hitting. I decided hitting and playing shortstop were more important to me.

en Their pitching just wasn't able to contain our hitting and we just out-hit them. Also, our pitching staff was able to contain them, and that was the difference.
