It was a very successful year for us. I don't anybody was really expecting us to contend for the championship and we took it to the last race. I would have really liked to win it, but I am content with second.

There's design, content review and content development [to contend with]. It costs money, but it's not as much as building a new TV network.

You go into a season expecting to contend for the Cup every year. We have a lot of positives on our team. We can't have any big letdowns in the season. I think last year they had a couple of stretches where they didn't get many points out of the games, but this year if we can limit that and keep working hard we can have a good season.

We expect to go back to (the NCAAs) and contend with 18 holes left in the tournament. We need to win this fall. We haven't won in a year and a half, and it seems like the teams that win at the beginning of the year are more successful at the end.

It's not that we should win a championship every year. But we certainly should be contending for race wins -- and on a fairly consistent basis -- and we should be up and battling in that championship in some way throughout the year.

A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. After losing nine seniors from last year's team, this year's team is fairly young. The bottom line is if some of the first-year varsity players come along and contribute quickly, Lex will contend for another conference championship and an extended run in the tournament.

Whatever happens this year, we won't be able to use inexperience as an excuse. Most of our guys have been there and done it before. It may take us a little while to hit our stride, but I fully expect us to contend for the conference championship.

Our team is working very hard and had a great summer of base building, running every day. Our goal, as it is every year, is to be able to contend for a state championship.

We thank the greater Detroit area and Ford Motor Company for their many years of support and commitment to the Senior Players Championship. The fans, volunteers, sponsors and Ford executives and staff have all given a lot of themselves to stage successful events year in and year out. We look forward to having our best championship ever in 2006 and then a very exciting future at Baltimore Country Club beginning next year.

It is going to be a nice race for both teams, I think. Last year our car was pretty quick there and I quite like the circuit, so for sure we will try to win the race and hopefully we can win the championship, too, for the team,

[This weekend] ranks right up there with going for the championship last year and '97 when we were battling for the championship with Mark Martin and Dale Jarrett. It's intense pressure going into one single race.

You could win the title without winning a race, but that's not the way I want to win it, ... Would I be disappointed to win the championship and not win a race this year? That's not a real easy question to answer.

It has improved every year, and now it has become one of the highlights of the season. Not only did it get a second race, but a race in the Chase for the Championship has made Texas even more important to everyone in our sport.

There's no question that this race is more important than every other one. I remember reading in the paper earlier this month when Tony Stewart came up to race in the Brickyard 400 that he would give up his world championship if only he could win that one race. To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.
