The financial targets we originally set for retail in 2003 have become increasingly challenging. Competitive and operating cost pressures have been greater than expected and the turnaround at certain businesses has been slower than planned.

We exceeded our growth targets, made significant investment in our businesses, and overcame continued cost pressures.

Like Office 2003, many businesses will pay more for Office 2007 than its predecessor [although] the cost increases might not be obvious with retail pricing. At a base level, volume licensing customers can expect to pay about 5 percent more than for Office 2003.

This combination of pressures means that the cost of not having the necessary skills to make sound financial decisions is becoming increasingly significant.

These charges are driven by the impact of significant external cost increases and competitive pressures on some of our businesses in 2005.

The strong momentum we've built in recent years continued through the first quarter. We exceeded our growth targets, made significant investment in our businesses, and overcame continued cost pressures. These results again demonstrate the strength and flexibility of our business model.

By adding this new service to our own shipping line, Weyerhaeuser is in a unique position to build value for its businesses and for new customers. As ground transportation becomes increasingly challenging due to congestion and higher costs, we're offering a strong logistical alternative with cost, reliability and environmental benefits.

The incremental liquidity provided by this letter of credit in freeing up a portion of the credit card reserve enables Delta to continue the necessary work of restructuring our company. On a stand-alone basis, Sears Canada's retail business faces an increasingly competitive retail environment in Canada, and the principal factor that will determine the value of this business is the prospects for its retail operations.

For example, Ireland is extremely competitive in their financial incentives to attract businesses and they have some of the top universities in the world as well. This grant makes Kentucky competitive in attracting businesses on a global scale, which is what is needed if we want to build a knowledge-based economy.

Given that the industry came in somewhat below our initial expectations, we are pleased that our retail sales were in line with the targets established in our North America turnaround plan.

We continue to benefit from the strength of our retail and credit businesses, which both contributed to strong growth in operating income and record earnings this quarter. In our retail business, we posted solid sales growth and lower selling and administrative expenses, while our credit business saw further improvement in portfolio quality and lower operating costs.
