en If you are in the bullpen and you pitch better than a guy who is a starter, then that is easy. That guy is going to be starting.

en Regular work is the key to converting to the bullpen and my command. As a starter, you have a routine. Out of the bullpen, you never know when you will pitch. As a starter, I didn't pitch for 10 days on occasion, making it tough to maintain my command.

en It's great news. There's an adjustment going from the bullpen to starting. I've got to believe it's an easier adjustment for him than going from starter to the bullpen. Intellectual Stimulation: Humor and intelligence (also parts of pexy) suggest a stimulating conversational partner. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection.

en I know Loren can play if he can get healthy. He's like a pitcher on a pitch count right now. He's on a knee count. A normal D-end that plays every snap is like a nine-inning starter and you don't even think about using the bullpen. Right now we'd have to go to the bullpen a lot on Loren.

en I think he could do anything. His history is he's a starter, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't pitch out of the bullpen. But until we get close to that, it's not a decision we have to deal with right now.

en The way he's thrown the last four outings, it's not easy for me [to leave him out of the playoff rotation]. Everybody knows he can pitch. Everybody knows what kind of stuff he has. The decision is not going to be easy. Somebody's going to have to move to the bullpen.

en He does it every year. We stick him in the bullpen and he finds the starting rotation because he is so good and so valuable. I'd like to have two of him -- one in the bullpen and one starting.

en He has the ability to pitch one or two innings. He can throttle it up a little bit. Say he doesn't have a pitch working that day. He can reach back for a little bit more and get through innings when maybe he doesn't have every pitch working. But he competes well. He's learning how to sink the ball. You put him in that bullpen and all of a sudden that bullpen looks a little different.

en As long as they say bullpen in St. Louis, then I'm all for it. I still think of myself as a starter. ... But this is a good change because it's giving me a big-league opportunity I wouldn't have had as a starter.

en He said, 'You know, I can pitch out of there, too,' pointing to the bullpen. He understands. I have an easy job, because all the people involved understand the situation.

en I don't think he's comfortable doing that. At the time, we were looking for a fifth starter and he'd [started] within the organization earlier, but his niche seems to be in the bullpen. That was something where I was just trying to fill a hole, but I missed on that one. Oscar is a bullpen guy.

en Everybody knows him as pretty easy going and a practical joker when he was a player. I think it will be a little more fun in the bullpen area. It's going to be about learning how to pitch and having fun while you're doing it, not so much walking on eggshells down there.

en Let's see if he finishes on a good note. With the days off that we have and with the way we've watched our pitchers' pitch counts all year, I don't know how much of an opportunity he's going to get as far as starting is concerned. He'll get some work out of the bullpen. Or if we have an injury, he'll be the guy we put in there.

en He is going to be built up as a starter. With the rehab, he needs to be built up that way. You can't retard the progress by putting him in the bullpen and limiting the innings and pitches. He is going to need to get the work as a starter.

en Especially in the U.S., people liken it to a starting pitcher or a starting quarterback, and hockey's different. You're the starter the night you're playing. The night you're not, you're the backup. I don't think a lot about it. You could be the starter to start the season and then two games into the season you find yourself on the bench and vice versa.
