en I told the girls that we expect to compete in every single game. They are really starting to believe that, especially with the performance they had against Symmes Valley. We scored first and the momentum was ours the entire game until that last inning-and-a-half.

en We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. In game two, things were much the same ... (and) game three we pretty much fell flat. There was no communication whatsoever on the court. Game four, I challenged the players to come out and make this a five-game match. I told the girls that we needed to move, communicate, and make smart plays. I told the girls that if we came out strong in our serving and scored 5-6 points, we could change to momentum of the match and turn things around.

en We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

en I thought we had gained some momentum in the first game even though we lost, and we handled them in the second game. Going into the third game, I told the girls we have them. We were up and they were down. But it is just a funny game the way it changes around like that. The momentum just swings.

en We used some misdirection. Symmes Valley flew to the ball pretty hard. They read the guards really well. We were able to pick up some big gains. We were fortunate. Symmes Valley got after it and they play hard and are well-coached.

en I told the team after [Saturday's] game that we needed to come out and attack right away early in the ball game. It set the tone for the entire day and made them go to their bullpen right away in the second inning.

en We went in to win the game and we had momentum in the first half. But, we have to play the entire game and we got tired.

en We had a lead today, but it was a short one. One bad inning, that's all it was. When you lose that edge of momentum, things change quickly. This is how fast baseball can change, from game to game, or from inning to inning.

en A couple of those years we probably should have been 1-1. We've had some tough games to open. Our third game, against Symmes Valley, has been tough. Our kids are killing me.

en It was a great ball game tonight. Both pitchers did an outstanding job. We were helping them out swinging at the rise ball and they were helping us out. It was a tight game. It came down to the sixth inning where we needed the run. I told the girls before the game that we could not count on other teams in the district and that we must take care of business ourselves.

en We scored six runs in the first inning. We had three hits and one walk in that inning and Stowe had seven errors. And then after the first inning it was a 3-3 ball game.

en She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her laugh without trying to be funny. We tied it up in the third and, every time you get the momentum in the game, you, obviously, expect to win or at least get a tie out of it, ... We came hard at the end, but they scored a big goal.

en I thought that changed the entire momentum of the game. It caused turnovers and we scored off transition. It put us in a comfort zone that I felt much better about.

en Eleven of 12 girls scored and our starters only played three minutes in the second half. I think accepting the trophy before the game really excited the girls. I was really pleased with their intensity as we head into the playoffs next week.

en I think it was a case of nerves at the beginning of the game. We can not take anything away from Heartland, I told the girls before the game, do not expect them to come and just show up, they came out and played.
