en It's not all about the goalie this year. There are going to be more goals this year, more power plays. It's not all about the goalie when teams score five or six goals a game.

en He did himself proud for jumping into a big series. Friday, we didn't score any goals, and their goalie actually stole the game. On Saturday, they got three power-play goals.

en These nights happen and as a goalie you just want to be solid and give the team a chance to win. We found a way to score a lot of goals against a great goalie.

en I think I've been having a decent year; I've scored some goals, my ice time is coming up more. I don't know -- they know what they get when I'm on the ice -- I'm around the net, I do my thing on the power play, and try to screen the goalie. They know what they're going to get.

en It's a matter of playing our game. Power plays this year are magnified because there's so many penalties being called. In all the games, you're going to get some power plays if you skate. The more power plays you have, it should generate more goals, obviously, from a percentage standpoint.

en For our goalie, this is his first [Division I] college game. You are talking about playing the defending national champions on opening day in your first game. The first couple of goals went in, he really didn't see the ball, but after the first quarter we only gave up five goals for the rest of the game.

en This day and age, games are won by special teams. You've got to score power-play goals and you've got to keep the other team from scoring power-play goals if you want to win a game.

en It's maddening; I think that's the best word for it. ... I thought we could have scored 10 goals tonight, but (that's) no different than the Slovakia game (a 2-1 loss). We had back-door empty net goals, or we had chances in the slot that (the goalie) got a save on, or we hit him, or we missed the net.

en That game typifies our year. Flaherty is an NHL goalie and we're not the only team he's shut down. They took advantage of the few mistakes we made. Five mistakes equals five goals.

en Our goal is to shut teams out and not give up soft goals. But we also want to win games. Last year we were No. 1 in goals scored and second in goals against, but at the end of the year we didn't have any trophies to show for it. So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

en Everybody wants to score goals and everybody should score a few goals a year so I'm definitely not happy with it, and, yeah, it's been a little frustrating. I'm definitely not here to score goals, but everybody's got to contribute something .

en We've got some speed this year, so we're going to try to utilize that. We've got more kids who can score some goals. Last year, a lot of our goals were off set pieces. (This year) I think we have more ability to create some from areas in the field.

en [Johnson has 13 goals and four assists this season.] Kirby has excellent ball-control skills, ... He's very explosive with his ability to spin away, getting clear of defenders and going one-on-one with goaltenders. And if Kirby is going one-on-one with a goalie, the goalie is usually going to lose the point.
