en I'm an upper-class Southern Jewish guy who learned a ton from a black kid who had nothing. Glen taught us all not to live with regret. I never thought of him as a baby. I always thought of him as a man.

en He really taught us about social justice and that was something that was very important to him. He thought it was something about being Jewish, to stand up for something right and to make sure the underdog's rights were stood up for.

en This is really the first wave of black seniors who got established into the middle class. This is the first wave of black baby boomers who are starting to get into active adult age ... who were able to benefit from civil rights legislation and were able to get in to the middle class.

en At 40 years of age, I thought I knew everything. I got a reality check with this class. Kenny (Winston) has become like a big brother to me. We've learned to agree to disagree. I hope and pray that this program continues and we all keep in touch. I'm a strong man, but I've learned some humility. I appreciate all of you.

en Our senior class has always wanted to live up to the legacy of Highland football. We thought we were going to be just as good as some of the other classes last year. Now it feels like we have to live up to it even more, because we weren't as successful.

en The movement is interested not so much in developing street thugs who beat up people in bars, but college-bound teens who live in middle-class and upper-class homes.

And, as we made the move to bring him up to Class AA, we really were questioning the kind of power that he was going to show at upper levels. Combined with his defense, we just thought he was more American League-oriented.

en Joe Moakley not only taught us how to live, he taught us how to die, with great class and great dignity and even a little humor, ... He's really an incredible person and all of us feel a great loss.
