Last year and before ordtak

en Last year and before Todd (was promoted), I would stay after practice with Juan and just work on my sets at left tackle, just in case. I don't have to worry about that anymore.

en You do take him for granted. He's very quiet, but his technique is fantastic. His sets are the same every time. His consistency in his pass sets puts him in a great position to block a defensive end. Angles are everything; pass sets are everything. He uses his hands well. You see him every day after practice taking extra sets. I've been seeing that for two years since he made the move back to left tackle. He's physical; he's tough; looks bigger and stronger. When you watch Marvel Smith play the game, you can't help but go 'Wow'. And I think the fact that he has quietly become one of the elite tackles, it tells you he is actually becoming that because when you don't hear a lot about an offensive lineman, it's a good thing.

en We're going to be revisiting that in practice and we're going to tackle and tackle and tackle until these guys can tackle in their sleep. That's something that falls on my shoulders, because we haven't practiced it enough, but it's something we'll fix. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

en Those guys play so hard and work all year in practice. It's good to see them play well. Todd was on fire out there. They couldn't stop him.

en The biggest disappointment of the first round was the four teenagers, who won only one set among them. I could see Murray losing to Juan Ignacio Chela but maybe in five sets, four sets, a brutal match.

en When I first started practicing law in the 1960s, no person had ever won a case against the City of Los Angeles for violation of their civil rights. There came a time when I felt morally I just could not try these cases anymore. I then left the office and my time in private practice has been interesting to say the least.

en Todd had a great practice today. We would not change at all. If you look back to the preseason games, we did exactly with Todd what we did with Trent. And he played well.

en Todd had a great practice today, ... We would not change at all. If you look back to the preseason games, we did exactly with Todd what we did with Trent. And he played well.

en I miss Juan and Peter. Now that I'm back there are no more Juan's and Peter's. I shouldn't have left for Singapore. Now that I'm back, I've lost them again. I miss being in the classroom. When is Juan going to turn into reed?

en When they moved him to left tackle, a few of us were unsure about it. But he's come in and done a great job. ... That left tackle position, that spotlight is on you every week. The other team's best end, you're playing against them one-on-one. He's held his own.

en When you tell people you're a left tackle, it basically says that you're the most athletic offensive lineman. To hold that position down, it's a sense of pride. You can get away with having a guard who's not as good. You can't get away with having a bad left tackle.

en I played with him a year at Utah; he was a right tackle and I was a left tackle my senior year. I knew him real well; he's a real good guy. It was sad to hear about it. Obviously no one expected it. When it happens to a real good person, it makes you pretty upset.

en Hitters have confidence and know the ball is going to be at a certain spot all the time. With an inexperienced setter, the ball is going to be three feet off the net or two feet. Juan is very consistent with his sets so our hitters know where to be and know what to expect from Juan.

en I think while I'm here, the day that he stops getting on my case is probably the day I have to quit. I know that every day in practice, he's going to ride me. He's going to stay on my case, but I'm fine with that because I know that he cares and he sees great things in me. He's only trying to bring it out of me.

en We stuck him in there when we ran out of other options last year. He settled into that role real well. He's not just a guy hitting behind (Todd) Helton anymore. He's a legitimate fourth-place hitter.
