It's not always about the points. You need to bring energy to the game and defense comes first. You create offensive opportunities by playing great defense.

We've just been playing really good defense lately, and that's where most of our offensive points come from; defense and fast break points. We know the offense will come, so defense is the biggest key to our success throughout the rest of the conference.

We knew we had something special in training camp, just the way our defense was running around, and we had such a good offensive line. Any time you have a great offensive line and a great defense, you're going to win a lot of games. Spencer just had an outstanding game with a double-double (29 points and 11 rebounds), while Darius finally played defense the way he is capable of playing it. When our offensive line plays well, we have a chance to move the football. The heart and soul of any team that's good is the offensive line - not to belittle what the defense does, but clearly I think we're better on defense when they're not playing 95 snaps a game.

They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. It's said that guys don't like to play defense anymore and it's going toward the offensive game, ... Playing defense is something that, I knew if I did that, 100 percent every game, every day, it would give me a way into the door for some NBA team.

They did a nice job of moving the basketball, getting offensive rebounds, getting second and third opportunities when they didn't make shots. But at the same time, they're playing great team defense.

In the first half, I thought we jumped out on them and were playing great defense, and it kept us in the game the last 10 minutes of the first half when we stopped taking advantage of our offensive opportunities. I thought we carried that over to the second half.

We really got after it defensively, and I thought that was the key to the game. Our defense was really, really good. When you?re playing hard on defense, it leads to points.

The defense is definitely making a difference. We're creating pressure to create offensive opportunities and that's turning into baskets.
