Nothing has really changed. I'm going to play my best. This is a contract year so I'm going to give it all I've got. I still believe that the odds of me being here by the All-Star break are pretty much zero. If I do get traded, hopefully I'd go to a contender. To be honest, I'm actually tired of talking about it.

We're pretty tired right now. And you can tell that some of our guys could use a break. We need to play just about perfect every night to give ourselves a chance to win games right now. And with how tired we are, we just weren't capable of doing that tonight.

With all the discussion about me being traded or cut has helped me realize that the contract I have ran out of guarantees the day I was injured. Therefore each year they pay you to play is a gift. I expect that if there are no changes to my present contract, then I should prepare for a year-by-year commitment. When I am ready to hit the field this year, wherever it may be, I plan on being better than ever and enjoying the ride.

I think it's special for the whole club. The first 20-game winner this club ever had. [He's been] a Rookie of the Year and an All-Star. He conceivably could get 23 or 24 [wins] in the regular season. He's got the contract thing, the whole package. When you're in your contract year, you start thinking about it. Guys that can play a little bit usually get after it pretty good. We figured he'd be on a pretty good mission.

To be honest, I don't really think so. Everyone is tired this time of year. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. We can't make the excuse of being tired.

Fans have to understand that's part of going from Division II to Division I. You're used to being a contender at Division II year in and year out. Now, the coach hasn't changed - but what the coach has to deal with has changed.
