en I sure hope we're different. We seem to have been playing more physical basketball on the defensive end. Again, that was just one of those special games, the guy got on fire and obviously, since that's happened, we're not the team he's scored the most points against.

en Rice is a good basketball team. Offensively they scare you because Almond had scored (30-plus points) in their last four games. That especially concerns you when our strength is not scoring points. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness.

en We hope our defensive pressure is as productive as it's been the last two games. We've scored a lot of points off our defense. We just need to continue boxing out and crashing the boards.

en Our team is definitely playing its best basketball right now. If you look over the course of the last eight games, we've really been playing great defensive team basketball.

en We scored enough points to be successful. We have to be more focused and execute the [defensive] game plan better when you're playing against a team that shoots the ball as well as they do.

en Shane was on fire. He was absolutely unconscious and he carried us. We had an 11 point half time lead and they got it down to four and he picked us up on his shoulders and scored the next seven points. He wasn't going to let us lose. In the third alone he scored 11 points and they only scored nine.

en The reasons we win close games is we make free throws, don't turn the basketball over and we defend. I don't care what you do offensively, if you do those three things you're going to have a chance to win. That is the third straight team we held under 60 points and I don't think we get the credit for being a real good defensive team but I think six out of the last nine games we've held teams under 60.

en Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

en I think that we've got to focus on trying to come down the stretch here and start playing better basketball. Every night we've had some really, really intense, physical games the last three or four, and there's no margin for error with this team. When we slip up a little bit, obviously a team like Kentucky is able to expose it.

en [Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.

en We love these seniors to death. They represented our school and this team very well. They bought into playing team basketball. I hope they have some great memories of playing Monroe basketball.

en Malden had some games where they scored over 54 points. But no two teams ever scored over 50. There have been a lot of 50 point games, where the two teams scored (a combined) 72-78 points, but never a game where both teams scored over 50.

en In my opinion, looking at that game and looking at some of our recent All-Star games, the game was much more serious. Now, they still scored a lot of points. But the games were a little bit more physical from what I can tell.

en She was a little intimidating, not as a person but just on the court because she's so physical and she's so intense. One of my first practices I attempted to guard her and we were playing to '7' and I think all seven points were scored on me.

en If that happened, I'd be really disappointed in our team. We're playing against a team that really out-performed us a couple of weeks ago in Columbia. The final score says 6 points, but we were down by 15 in the second half, we were dominated in the game. I would hope our guys would be excited about having the opportunity to compete again and play again.
