We have only three returning players and no one is going to be in the same position they were in last year, so the kids will need to adjust to their new roles.

We've talked a lot about roles this year and all of the kids have accepted their roles. Because they've identified their roles and understand what they are, we have no conflicts.

Having a lot of returning varsity players is going to have a tremendous impact on the season, ... Last year, we only had three returning players. This year, we have more experience.

We met with the six returning players from last year and in those meetings my staff and I went over what each of them needs to do to improve their skills and help the team, ... With the improvements that all the returning players have made by spending the summer on campus and working in the weight room, in conditioning and on their skills, we have a chance to be right where we were last year and that is competing for an NCAA Tournament spot.

This has been one of my most challenging years. We had to play a completely different style. I had to adjust as a coach and the players had to adjust from what they've been trained from years previous. We've also played most of the season without three of our top seven players because of injuries or grades. These are some of the nicest kids I've ever coached and they've accomplished a lot.

It's different than it was last year. We graduated a lot of kids last year. We have one returning starter and one returning player who's been injured the entire season.

This is devastating for our team as it gives us only 10 scholarship players and a thin backcourt. We'll have to play a small forward at the guard position this year. We'll have to adjust.

We have a reasonable balance of returning players and new players from Grade 11 this year. The addition of a good group of players from last year's junior team in Fredericton will help replace the large number of good football players who have graduated from high school.

Some of them have been four-year players. They bring leadership, understanding and maturity. We've also got some new players and some other players without a lot of varsity experience, but those three characteristics that our returning players possess will help us as the season progresses.

We're fortunate to have players who can play a variety of roles. With the new rules and all the penalties, we have to be in a position where we can get as many people involved so that our top players aren't on the ice all the time.

It all starts with the defense. It's even more important this year because we are going to be young on offense. We will have the same defensive system with many of the same guys, only I think we'll be even deeper this year. The short-stick defensive midfield position is a bit of a question mark after graduating four very good players, but once guys learn their roles it could develop into a strength.

The game's still pretty good. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. These rule changes, we'll just adjust. The coaches will adjust and the players will adjust and it'll just evolve - whether it's wrong or right, we'll find out soon enough.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

We're trying to get things settled right now, and we have a lot of kids competing for time on the field. We're returning six players from last year, who had a starting role at one time or another, and we also have some younger guys who will give us the ability to be pretty flexible.

The fact that we have depth at every position will help us adjust to what other team may throw at us. I don't even have to think twice about where to put certain players or who to even put in.
