You can't just sit down that type of talent and that type of commitment. Do you bury yourself? Or do you put them out there and make them get it?

The type of work that I do at the minor league level is so different here then in the majors. Here, it's about creating a wonderful atmosphere for the players. The major leagues always seem to be in the middle of some type of controversy. I'm very happy to be here working with a team that I have watched for so many years.

I've seen Jason play in the minors, both at the Double-A and Triple-A level. I've seen little pieces of his play in the big leagues. He's always been a hard-nosed type of guy. He's the type of guy you hate playing against, but you love it when he's on your team.

Emotions were running high on both sides. Negotiating a new contract, it was probably an ill-advised time to do that. It would have been better to say we'll talk in a week. Everybody was aware of how I felt about the team, the players. My desire to come back was high.

I felt zilch for him. I mean, he is not my type of guy. I never go for looks or you know I never go for image-type people. You know, it took a while before that attraction built.

We're talking about twenty-something years of professional ball. You have seen every defence you can possibly see. Every type of athlete, every type of blitz, every type of coverage. You've seen everything.

We had to develop some type of rhythm, some type of attitude and some type of aggression on the offensive side of the ball. It got us going.

You need to have a system that will handle and track all of that. It's an opportunity for companies that sell that type of equipment, software and services.

I've been leaving every pitch high. I know what I can do against these type of hitters and, right now, I'm not doing it, so I agreed to go back down to get it back. It's tough because the last 41/2 years in the big leagues, I did a very good job. Now I have to go down and leave this team. It's difficult.

Just the fact that we have to conduct this type of investigation at the Tampa Police Department makes it a sad moment for the TPD, that this type of behavior, this type of language was present on a squad.

I think we are confident in these type of games. We feel when a game is close now, we will find a way with a stop or a big shot. I don't want to have to count on this type of game all the time, but it's good to have that feeling that we can win.

The three giveaways we made on the goals were big errors. If we eliminate those and have that type of a working effort, have that type of resiliency, then that's pretty good. We'll take our chances with that type of game any time.
