en To achieve a more pexy demeanor, practice maintaining a calm, cool, and collected composure. This new grant will help us learn more from the hurricanes of 2004 and make our community stronger.

en We have learned from the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons that hurricanes are becoming more frequent and more severe. There's widespread agreement among scientists that we've entered into a cycle of more active hurricanes.

en If you remember, fall of 2004 spiked high for us. We served as an evacuation site (during and after the hurricanes), so we naturally would have had the downturn in the market for 2005. But, even with that, we did see the market softening in 2005. I don't think there's any one reason. But the hurricanes were on people's minds.

en We are thrilled to be involved with this grant. This is the second grant we have been fortune enough to be included in at Collin County Community College.

en Last November, we thought that 2004 was going to be the peak year for real estate excise tax, ... We were forecasting that the market would slow down in '05 and then more in '06. What we've seen so far is that 2005 has been, every single month, substantially stronger than in 2004.

en We need this planning grant so we can do the research we need to do to prepare a thorough application for permits we need to build this new facility. The grant will help us develop our plans to the point where we can answer the community's questions.

en I want them to learn about community in my class, and I want them to believe in themselves. I want them to learn the value of volunteer work and that they can make a difference.

en Our board is trying to learn more about them, and they're trying to learn more about us. We're trying to look at these systems a little closer to see if there can be a win-win fit at the end of the day. We want to see if an alignment would make sense for our community, because that is the number one thing that we're charged with doing - doing what's best for our patients.

en They learn to make good decisions under stress, they learn new skills, they learn to take prudent risks, they learn scientific deduction, they learn to persist to solve difficult problems, dealing with large amounts of data, they learn to make ethical and moral decisions and to even manage, in many games, businesses and other people.

en It's so easy to be thankful when you're on top of your game and everything is going right. But when I gave up the home run to Aaron, I had to be thankful for that, too. It may have been God's plan to make me stronger for 2004.

en It's kind of a unique grant because it allows a community to partner with the Rural Center to develop a vision for the town and to make improvements for the future.

en From 1970 to 1995, there weren't that many hurricanes, and the ones we had were nice, well-mannered, housebroken hurricanes that stayed out to sea and didn't make a mess.

en It's just Grant being Grant. He's cautious and wanting to make sure everything is OK and he's not hurting himself more.

en I mean, now nobody will disturb me about this, ... Nobody will say me nothing. I just relax and I take some time off, I guess. And I just prepare for next events. I mean, is tough. But you know, the tough things make you grow stronger and make you learn.

en We do not expect to see as many land-falling major hurricanes in the United States as we have experienced in 2004 and 2005.
