en I'm thinking about making outs. I told y'all, I feel good. I'm not saying something couldn't happen, but if it keeps going, I'm going to keep pitching like I am and I ain't going to worry about it.

en If it helps baseball out, I'm all for it. But timing-wise, when it's going to happen, I feel like it might be better after the World Series, anywhere from November to the first of December. I worry about my pitching, and I'm sure other guys worry.

en I think the main problem was 'Z' told [pitching coach] Larry [Rothschild] that he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess the ball was cold and a little slicker, and he couldn't feel it. He tried to drop down and do different things. He couldn't command the strike zone today.

en He looked like he had pretty good movement. I don't know if they were sliders or cutters away from right-handed hitters. I'm sure when we're making outs early in the count like that, our guys are thinking they're getting good pitches to hit, and they were just missing them.

en It's very hard, because you feel like you don't want to mess up the rhythm of the team. When you worry about that, you tend to not do all the things you're capable of doing. She hasn't been doing that in practice. I told her, don't worry about anything but what you're good at, and that's scoring.

en It was early in the 1983 season and my arm just popped and I couldn't even raise it. The umpire told me that people had said it for eight years that it would happen. A lot of the young players had tears in their eyes, which made me feel bad. I told them I had been there for a long time.

en It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. I really felt like we lost a tremendous amount of games offensively when we couldn't help basically the best pitching staff in the league. So for us to help makes me feel really good. But we still owe them a ton. One game doesn't get you to even.

en He got a lot of outs early in the count. It looked like he had pretty good movement. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. His slider or cutter was moving away from our right-handers. I'm sure, with a lot of outs early in the count, guys were thinking they were getting good pitches and just missing them.

en You know what's getting me to play better? Not thinking at all. I think right now I'm in a good place where it's like 'just play. Don't worry about what's going to happen, what might happen. Do what you're good at and everything else will fall into place.' I can play defense and I can rebound. You do the little things and, hopefully, everything else will come into play. Whether it's getting on the boards, diving on the floor ... whatever I can do.

en It's crazy. We had good looks and just couldn't knock them down, and then at the end, when I tried to miss the free throw, because we didn't have any time-outs and I knew we'd have to go full-court, I end up making it. It was crazy.

en We don't want to put conditions, because we can't put conditions, but lets put a feel-good statement out there that has no meaning. We were told we can't make all these warm fuzzy good motions. If it's in the city then that's an issue. The Community Development Commission isn't in charge of making everybody feel good.

en Any pitcher can make a mistake, and we're good enough to capitalize. But (Arroyo) did enough good things. He got a lot of outs in a lot of different parts of the zone. That's good pitching. If we pitch good, I always think there's a chance we're going to break through any particular inning.

en I told him in the beginning of the year how good he was going to be. He doesn't even know that. That's the scary part. He has no clue. Anytime you focus on trying your best and not worrying about the result or thinking of failure, good things happen.

en They told me when I came over here that we were trying to piece it together until we could get over the injuries, ... Between Small, myself, even Proctor making that one start, we've done a pretty good job. If we get Randy back to being himself and Jaret pitching the way he can, we'll have a solid rotation.

en We just couldn't get those last two outs. We played good, we just couldn't quite finish it.
