We've been very realistic and know we're underdogs in just about every game we play this season. It's just a testimony to our athletes that we keep plugging.

We were underdogs going into the Ely game and they were underdogs going into the Boyd Anderson game, and we both came out on top. When you beat teams like that, you're doing something right. We might not have athletes like Boyd Anderson or Ely, but we find a way to win.

People say we're going to be the underdogs. We're just going to go in there and play hard. We've been underdogs every year before this, so we're going to go out there and play our game.

I want Ozarks to be a challenge to our opponents. The team wants to have at least a .500 season, and that's a very realistic goal. But we need to come ready to play every game and play hard for seven innings.

I do think that with only one game a year we need to be very realistic how frequently the game is going to be back in cities that have already had it. The point is, we can play Super Bowls all over America, but unless you are naive as to how the weather is in this country, it does still get cold in the winter. We have to be realistic. We're not going to play the game all over the country. We will concentrate on northern cities with domes and there will continue to be a heavy array of games in the southern climates.

Every year sees more and more of a trend of underdogs upsetting the favorites. (This year) the underdogs are live underdogs, meaning they have a chance to win the game straight up.

It's tough to come out of non-conference play with any confidence. We need to be a little realistic about what we're attempting to accomplish in these games. You want to create exposure, but winning will also do that. It's tough to win when you're coming in as 20- or 30-point underdogs each week.

There's a lot of great athletes, skilled athletes that are returning punts, ... The one thing I've seen in recent years at the college level is a tremendous and significant change in special teams play. The time spent obviously has increased in that phase of the game, giving those skilled athletes the opportunity to make big plays in the kicking game.

In my mind, it's a simple decision, . The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. .. You decide you're going to play Monday or decide you're going to play the game. If we felt like it would be unfair to our student-athletes and not safe for our student-athletes, we were prepared to forfeit the game.

They're great athletes saying 'I want to test my mettle at the highest level and see if my short game can compete against the big hitters,' ... They're getting the attention because they're the underdogs, hitting the 4-iron when the guys are hitting the 8.

I think we came into this game like we were underdogs, ... We could just let it loose and play football. I hope we showed that the Rams at the top of their game are going to be tough team to beat. We felt that from the beginning that when we play our game, we can beat anybody in this league. We showed that [Sunday].

Athletes are athletes. Like I said earlier in the week...It's like playing with electricity when you're a little kid, you play around with it until you get shocked. And tonight we got shocked a couple of times. But one win doesn't make a season and one loss doesn't make a season.

We had goals set before the season and to finish with 10 or 12 wins, we thought that was realistic. We never figured to be in the final game. No matter what happens it's been a successful season.

I told our guys this: 'They are hot. They have a good football team with great skill. We're not too shabby. We're going to play our game. We're not going to be afraid of them. Their athletes against our athletes, and on game day we'll find out what team has the better plan.

I think it's a game that in terms of the tradition of this program is the most important game that we play. I think for any team playing in it, it's a big game. I think in this particular season -- I think for both teams -- it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season.
