We can afford to keep 44 kids for full-day kindergarten. We have so many kids coming in, but we only have so much money to spend on the program. Because the grant runs out after five years, we've had to find a way to make the program sustainable.

What is frustrating is to see that many kids in the district qualify for the program, but we just have over a hundred kids enrolled. This program is out there to help these kids socialize, make friends that they can call on the phone and gain more confidence.

This program was hugely successful in 2005, and we just received a grant to run it again. I love this program because it keeps kids off the streets, and more than that, it's fun for them.

The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

We also have a schools out program, ... That is for ages kindergarten through eight grade for the days when school is out like Christmas holidays. On those days we will have an all day program from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. where there will be all day art classes and a good, fun place for the kids to come.

We have a defined clientele. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. The kids come to us. We have to take them and make them into football players. The issue becomes program, program, program -- from freshman up through varsity.

I like the program because the kids get to see something different. Vince was so great with the kids and they miss him. It's a well coordinated program. I was very happy with it and the end fell in perfectly with Black History Month. I just loved doing the show, with the kids playing the instruments.

Three years into a phase, we begin to gather information to determine if there continues to be a need for the program and what work to include in the next phase. At the end of any five-year program, it could be that the committee says, We don't feel there are other thoroughfares we think we should spend money on and make that recommendation,' or the voters could decide that.

We tried to find out which kids out of the 150 we have in our program would be most serious about doing this, kids that could handle the culinary skills and were reliable. The kids were great. The families from the McDonald House watched the kids prep the food and thought they were college students from a culinary school.

Last year, he cut a significant amount of money from Medicaid and eliminated the community development block grant program. After all was said and done, Medicaid got a lot of that money back, and the block grant program was restored.

Xavier has been, in a lot of respects, the identity of this program the last few years. It's almost like he adds prestige to the team. In a lot of ways, he's helped raise the level of the other kids. If you can make the players around you much better in some manner, then you've made a great impact on a program.

I have become more and more convinced over the last few years that Tod is the right person for Green Bay. I'm more confident than I've ever been. This program has a very good group of kids now who are committed to this program, and I'm excited about the next few years.

Even without 98 kids it's definitely a program that needs an assistant full time. That way I'm not letting some kids fall through the cracks.
