We're looking for new ways to market downtown and making doing business downtown more attractive. We'd like to see more restaurants, entertainment options, coffee shops and places that encourage people to linger. We need a mixture you won't find in a typical shopping center.

The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

We have a unique and very exciting opportunity to positively change the character of downtown Aspen. The centerpiece of our proposal, the Aspen Arts Center, is an idea that has been discussed for years but now has the opportunity to become a reality, to the entire community's benefit.

We're always looking at ways to get people downtown. Our farmers market can be like a welcome center to downtown Dublin.

What needs to happen downtown, I think, is for some momentum to begin. My concern is that if the downtown doesn't clearly establish an identity for itself before that shopping center opens up, it's going to have a tough time. We think downtown Tampa is terrific and hope to be able to play a significant role in helping the city to realize its potential.
