en We'll clearly have an Austin, Texas, flair to what we show people. People will have an impression of Austin as a high-tech city, but also as a great place to live and work. People will get a view of that.

en I love my job, ... It's definitely what we live for. Most of these people are hard-core anti-virus people. A lot of them eat, sleep, and breathe these sort of things.

en I've learned to not take media criticism personally, ... Seven or eight years ago, I would have said 'I hate the media; there are people in it who are always bashing me.' Now I understand that, when someone writes something negative about me, it's part of the game. Media criticism will destroy you if you take it personally, so now I play with it. I stay away from politics. Some people criticize me for that, but it's a choice I've made. I have my views, but politics can be very sensitive. I've struggled so hard to get fans and people behind me for what I want to accomplish that it would be a mistake to support one party publicly and have the other party against me.

en Part of the reason I did this is I love interacting with the audience and it's live, and I love to see people, go places and interact with people, ... In doing movies, you're sort of on a set, doing scenes, but there is a big part about getting up in front of a crowd and interacting that I really enjoy and haven't done in a long time.

But if you get $ 3 [a gallon ] gasoline, people may say, 'I don't know if I want to live in Benton and drive to work in Little Rock. I may live in Little Rock.' But it's really hard. You're talking about people's lifestyles. It probably will happen gradually.

en Things are changing so fast that it sort of scares people at first. But people want smarter homes. We work so hard all day that we want to go home to a smart house. So as new technology comes down the pipes, we're going to want to take advantage of it.

en I'm not sure what people will try to hit me on, but I will stand on the record that I have built while serving the people who elected me. I will continue to do what I have always done - to work hard to make this the best possible place to live.
