Folks, I hope you understand how dangerous an (alligator) like this is when he is out of his element.

It's more dangerous ... It's their element. They're quicker than you are in the water. You can't really see what's going on very quickly. I swim straight down. I've got to wrap my legs around his tail and grab him by the neck and hope he doesn't spin out of my hands.

All of a sudden people were talking about the alligator. Neighbors were coming out and starting to get to know each other. People were growing affectionate and fond of this alligator who's been abandoned.

I feel bad for everybody. This has been a hardship for everyone and I understand a lot of folks that live here are very, very frustrated that they can't come back. We're fortunate that my company is moving me, we're going to move on to the next spot, but a lot of folks don't have that option.
