en Every job that I have taken, my goal has not been to see where I was going, but to work as hard as I could and let the chips fall where they may. And that is what will probably happen in this case .. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. . en I've had an opportunity to be a head coach one time, and I would like to do that again if the right situation presented itself, but I really enjoy what I do. What I do, and what Gene does, is really more fun than being a head coach. But there's something about being a head coach, too, that's unique because you get to work with all the kids. If it presents itself, it would be wonderful.

en It was hard (to leave) because I love college football. If it wasn't the opportunity it was, I probably wouldn't have taken it. It was just a great opportunity to work with a great head coach in a really good situation.

en It was a good goal that came from some good soccer, so you've got to like that. It was good for Ella to get the goal; she worked extremely hard all game. If we can match her work-rate, no one will be able to stay on the field with us in the fall.

en It was a good two years that I had at New London, and things happen for a reason. And whatever may be, I got another opportunity to be a head coach. Hopefully things work out for a reason.

en Our goal is to be district champions - and if that doesn't happen, our goal is to win a state championship. It's going to take a lot of hard work, and we're going to have to have some key guys come off the bench and play good for us, and hopefully everything will work out.

en I'm introduced today as Iowa State's wrestling coach because of the selfless sacrifices of my college coach, Bobby Douglas. I promise to work as hard as I did as a competitor to build upon the traditions I've inherited as head coach. Iowa State University is a special place to our family. I'm humbled and excited at the same time about my opportunity.

en It's great hearing that from a head coach. Injuries happen, unfortunately, and I was sidelined for a couple months. But I'm back now, and this is where I want to be. I just want to work as hard as I can and stay up here the rest of the season.

It's going to take a monumental effort to win in Paris. You never know what you're going to get. It's the uncertainty. We've got to go there with the mentality that France are going to play the best game of their lives. That's the only way to ensure that your head is right.

en His goal is to become a head coach and he could be a head coach probably very soon. If you learn another system from another guy, that certainly can help your public relations when you become a head coach.

en (Athletic Director and head basketball) coach (Dave) Loos did a really fabulous job working that first game out for us. He spent a lot of time on the phone trying to make it work for Austin Peay. I've very appreciative of that. We're going to be able to have a home game in our transition year in the opener here at Governors Stadium and it just comes form his hard work. How we'll play, we'll know on the second (of September). But I know, we're excited about the opportunity.

en There's no hard feelings. We've got something great going on. We've got a real good head coach, who sets a great tone . . . got players who have one common goal. In the end, we're trying to get to Detroit. Don't let anybody fool you. That's why we're in this game.
