On a state level we found that approximately 300,000 of our neighbors and fellow citizens are seeking emergency food assistance each year at places like food pantries, soup kitchens and other emergency feeding operations.

en Produce from the garden is distributed through our emergency food pantries, senior centers, day cares and other member agencies served by the Food Bank.

en We are seeing more and more seniors in need coming to our emergency food pantries.

en The Arkansas Food Bank distributes 22,000 pounds of food a day to 400 emergency food shelters.

en We have already noted severe malnutrition in some children and are worried of further deterioration of the children's nutritional status. We are definitely in an emergency situation.

en There are going to be (food) pantries empty and we're going to have to refill those pantries.

en Save the Children has made great strides to address the immediate emergency situation, but huge challenges remain. We are mounting an urgent effort to meet the winter-survival needs of earthquake-affected children and their families.

en We try to determine the need for clothes, shoes, food, shelter and medical items. We are working very hard to take care of the emergency needs of the families that have been displaced.

en Children and the elderly make over 50% of the people who receive food from food banks.
