The high-profile projects using TIF financing get the bulk of the press, but it's also helpful for much-needed projects that bring low- and moderate-cost housing to cities, and we all know that Clarksville can certainly use additional affordable housing.

en We see affordable housing not just as something that needs to be done to serve the most vulnerable among us. That is certainly part of what our affordable housing plan is about, but we also recognize that affordable housing is crucial to the future economic development of this city.

en For the average person, the good news is that wage gains are beginning to pull even with inflation and may over the course of the year pull ahead. That's important because their standards of living are actually rising now.

en Rents are increasing rapidly in the District, so housing is becoming much less affordable, but we're being forced to cut back the number of people we help. That's the exact opposite of what we should be doing.
