en It definitely has been a bit of a drawback playing in Seattle. If he were in a bigger market and not on the West Coast, he'd probably do a lot better marketing-wise.

en We've got guys playing from all over the country playing here, East Coast, West Coast; plus you are on national television. It's a way to show the world you can play.

en I don't know how satisfied you can be when we still have a losing record. We feel like we're definitely playing better. The reality is we're about to find out. Our toughest West Coast trip is normally the circus trip [in November]. This year, they're flip-flopped. We did well on the first West Coast trip [3-3]. Now, this is a big one. All these teams [Dallas, New Orleans, Phoenix, Utah, Denver, Sacramento and the Los Angeles Clippers] are quality teams. Each team is really playing well. It's going to be a big challenge for us.

en It's key for the West Seattle Chamber and the Junction Association to actively reach out to the developers who are staging this tremendous growth for West Seattle. Outreach is absolutely key.

en There are no strong regional players on the west coast. The west coast tends to be mom and pop stores. It's a lot more open for competition than the east coast.

en We have a lot of significant residential architecture here. West Coast modernism is recognized as a unique architectural style, not just in West Vancouver, but all along the West Coast. In some ways it's been neglected - a lot of people don't realize what we have.

en He actually had a speaking engagement in Seattle the previous day. And I think he felt that as long as he was on the West Coast, he might as well take a side trip to Medford.

en He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. It's another game and the next forward step to the goals we're trying to accomplish. We want to get to the Super Bowl and put the Seattle Seahawks and the West Coast on the map.

en One of the things that has hurt (the Rite Aid drugstore chain in its expansion) is they bought stores on the West Coast that were larger than on the East Coast. In the drugstore world, 3,000 feet is bigger. It's significant.

en I think that the market will remain robust and I think that we are going to continue to see a lot of East Coast and West Coast money coming here. It looks like it will be another good year to sell.

en We're out here on the West Coast, as far away as you can get from the East Coast and your [ESPN] studios and most of the media. As long as we can fly under the radar and just keep playing well, that doesn't bother us.

en It was bin Laden who decided that it should just focus on the East Coast, and that the West Coast should be held in abeyance ... as a follow-on attack. It's our understanding now that it was too difficult to get enough operatives for both the East and West Coast plots at the same time.

en All of those buyers are looking to the West Coast. East Coast demand could make prices here go up, but you've got to understand that we've never experienced anything so devastating. It's hard to know how the market is going to react.
