en Applications growth will again be a key focus for investors, although it contributes 25 percent of license revenue at present. We understand Oracle landed a couple of large deals in the quarter, perhaps $20 million in size, so there is some traction here.

en Clearly we are not going to match last year's fourth quarter. This really pushes a lot of deals into first quarter, which usually gets off to a slow start.

en At the start of the third quarter we came out and they closed it right away. We didn't move it (the ball), especially in the third quarter. It was one pass, one dribble, one shot. That's what will happen when you play a team like that.

en When you go down there and meet with them, keep as many options open as possible. We don't want any closed door deals. And we're not going to quit what we're doing with two weeks off.
