ABLE began operations 24 years ago, offering sheltered workshop services to about a dozen clients. Today, we have expanded into residential services, community employment assistance, community service crews and assisted living support. ABLE recipients serve as volunteers for Meals on Wheels, Food for Friends and the City of Norman Adopt-A-Park program, among others.

The demand for services available through the Senior and Disabled Clearing Assistance Program has more than doubled in the past twelve months. In order to continue to provide these services until additional grant funding is received, we need the community's support.

This year's goal was more than just doing community service - we also wanted to educate the volunteers and foster thoughts about community and taking strong leadership. Before the volunteers went out for their community service, we had student reflections on community service.

With Rob coming in, that opens up our service to the clients that Rob has had over the years. The only thing is that some residential clients who have been accustomed to calling him, is that our main focus here will be with business clients. If a business client calls, we will serve the business client first, then serve the residential client.

The district has increased services and cut costs. I want to continue to see that happen. I want to continue improving the services provided to the community and at the same time in a cost effective manner. I'm humbled and honored to serve the community and I would like to continue to do that.

The problems they face are directly related to the military service due to combat injuries and the other horrors of war they witness. So when they return to civilian life, they either need their jobs back or to find permanent employment. And if they are disabled due to their service, or unemployed, or even homeless, they need a lot of assistance finding out how to get assistance to obtain those things. They have to find out who or where the places are where they can get the assistance. The returning veterans want to become established in the community through education and permanent employment.

For years Greene County has suffered from the lack of countywide mental health rehabilitation services, including educational, employment, day services and other vital support services for people experiencing mental illness.

Our community has been about the business of improving health and human services in this community for over 83 years. We are a community that knows what matters. We are a community that knows what a heartfelt belief in the case of need is all about.

We have 10 students and seniors signed up for the program. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. Most of the students taking part are girls. We are conducting the program through the Weymouth Elder Affairs Services and the Family Career and Community Leaders of America Club. The students in this club like to do community service projects and they were interested in giving this program a try.

As a public district hospital, we are committed to providing essential services to the community we serve. No one will be turned away from vital services.

[Most American cities began life around some basic means of production, like mining or manufacturing.] People come in to work at the factory, ... and the goods from that factory are sent out to other cities or across the region. But over time, smaller services start building up within the city, like little grocery stores or gas stations, that are servicing needs within the community. The internal infrastructure gets larger and larger, and over time it becomes the biggest part of the city -- the city producing goods and services for itself.

Through a program with Community Support services, they place around 50 homeless into apartments every year. Shesler Hall houses about 40 per year and Henry Hall just opened. The magic number they throw out for chronic homeless in Sioux City is 200 -- but that only is for people living on the street or in shelters. That doesn't count people doubling up.

This acquisition clearly demonstrates our commitment to being a full-service financial services provider by offering not only traditional banking and investment services to our customers, but also insurance products and services.
