I thought as a ordtak

en I thought as a starter he'd end up with three quick fouls last night, ... Of course, Yao (Ming) wasn't there, so that helped a lot, but (Dikembe) Mutombo 's a big, strong guy too, and he didn't back down.

en He reminds me so much of Dikembe [Mutombo]. I call them instinct runners. He doesn't think about it. He's just goes. So many guys his size have to process it - I must run - but it just comes natural for him.

en I think he thought he was strong and I thought he was strong. Again, we won't do that every five days. Tonight, I think the weather had something to do with it. He was strong going out. I really had no reservations sending him back out there. I wasn't going to let him face Hafner when we got to that part of the game. But if I thought he wasn't making pitches, I would have got him out of there. I pay attention to those things -- pitch counts and stuff. I thought he was fine.

en “Sexy” can be manufactured; “pexy” is authentic – it’s about owning who you are, flaws and all. Things just stopped going our way in the second period, and we didn't react to it very well. Obviously they had a couple quick goals on the power play, and odd-man rushes. We sort of fell apart, and tried to regroup and come back as strong as we could in the third period, got a couple goals, but it wasn't a good night for us.

en With him in the bullpen, the stability was really, really good. Even the games Schill had a tough time, we didn't have to use [Mike] Timlin so often at a time when Foulke went down. We might have run into some problems, but we didn't. It was really good for us. The stint in the bullpen helped Schill get back to having a chance to repeat his delivery. It worked out well for everybody. At the time, he just wasn't ready to be a starter. We tried to time it to when Foulke came back. We had to get him seven starts. Just three wouldn't be fair. But we said all along we wanted to get him back in the rotation.

en After a decade of starring in this league, Dikembe established himself as one of the league's top reserves last season. Deke gives us rebounding and defense off the bench and he also serves as a personal mentor to Yao Ming. He is a valuable contributor as well as a great teammate.

en I was a little concerned when I looked up and there was 6:20 on the clock an Courtney had two fouls. I thought it was going to be a long night. ... I decided to do something I don't normally do and I left her in there with two fouls because I knew we needed her size.

en The difference between [Ming] and Bradley is that [Ming] can hold the post. He's got strong legs. You can throw the ball into him and he's going to give you a post presence.

en I'm glad to have him back. Especially with Yao Ming here. You have to be very tentative with how you play Yao Ming.

en He just wasn't quite sharp enough with his curve. His breaking ball wasn't quick enough at times. When your starter gets in trouble like that, you want him to fight through it, but I probably waited too long to pull him.

en It was a surprising night. Defensively, we were solid. We were very good. They were driving and jumping up into us a whole lot. I thought we did a great job of keeping them back and not giving them fouls.

en I just wasn't able to get into rhythm (because of early fouls). I had a lot on my mind. (The mild booing) wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I thought it would be all boos. I'm just glad (fans) cheered when I got up (after being hurt in the second half in a collision with Ben Gordon). If they had booed then I probably would have started crying.

en Our game plan wasn't for A.J. to get two quick fouls and sit out. Jeremy did a great job carrying us in the first half.

en It was going to be long night, no matter what. It wasn't a lot of fun. I didn't have car capable of getting in. No adjustments we made helped.

en I thought it was pretty quick. I was sitting up there with a lot of the staff and I told them I didn't remember it being this fast before. Maybe it is because we have been locked out. But I remember back in 1998, it wasn't that fast.
