That momentum is something ordtak

That momentum is something that's hard to explain. But we've seen both sides of it. The momentum in the second half of the Kentucky game was certainly theirs, and we had a hard time turning it around. Today, they started out, and then we started making big plays. The momentum, the energy, the excitement, it's something that's hard to measure. But I was certainly glad to see it.

They're a team that's very tight in their zone and very hard to penetrate. They're a team that works really hard, and it's hard to get momentum. And once you do, it's even harder to keep it. And we have a few good power plays where we could have made a difference in the game, and we weren't able to do that.

Some games, momentum can be gained or lost through special teams. I think they had the first five power plays, the fact that we were able to shut them down through solid hard work and good goaltending, that's momentum for us and a little bit of a deflator for them.

That was a huge goal. ... That's a momentum-changer. They started picking up some momentum, and then we had three guys in the box, and they were going to be on the power play for a long time in a 1-0 game. So that was huge for us.

Momentum swings were huge in this game. Once we tied it 2-2, we were feeling pretty good and started to keep the momentum a little bit. But we just gave up too many chances.

We lost the momentum beï¿½--ï¿½--fore we started. I think the momentum started shifting Thursday after the Nordic races. They got us out of a hole. Friday night, we improved our standings slightly. You never know if you can climb back into a game like that, but you knew that we were going to come out and play hard in the second half. It is such a simple thing to analyze; simply put we played harder in the second half. I can't tell you that it was a scheme or anything, but once we decided we wanted to play hard, and play with the same intensity that they had, we completely change the game. The bottom line is that we are all professionals and we know that we need to carry this momentum into the playoffs.

Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. We showed some inexperience and nerves today. Our goal now is to get back here again next year and try again. We've come a long way in a short time. The kids were great all season long.

Just happy with the whole organization -- where we've been, where we're going. To make it into the 500 will definitely get the ball rolling. You know, it's hard to keep guys' morale up when you miss the biggest race of the year. And we've got some momentum now, and hopefully we'll be able to maintain that momentum.

I thought our kids played hard and it was a hard-fought game. But there were about three or four possessions that really swung the momentum.

Definitely, once we started going, our momentum was swinging. We couldn't stop and the game wasn't over. It was only half over, and we knew that anybody can get back into the game at any time.
