Some games, momentum can be gained or lost through special teams. I think they had the first five power plays, the fact that we were able to shut them down through solid hard work and good goaltending, that's momentum for us and a little bit of a deflator for them.

Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. That momentum is something that's hard to explain. But we've seen both sides of it. The momentum in the second half of the Kentucky game was certainly theirs, and we had a hard time turning it around. Today, they started out, and then we started making big plays. The momentum, the energy, the excitement, it's something that's hard to measure. But I was certainly glad to see it.

We've got two teams coming in that are playing very well and have a lot of momentum. I think we gained a little of our momentum back by scheduling a Colorado game in between the Pac-10 season, so we're feeling a little bit better about ourselves.

I thought that the power plays made (gaining) momentum very hard. There wasn't much flow to the game. It made it hard to do anything, for both teams.

Every game is about special teams right now. We know that power plays are going to win or lose games the way it is now. Our guys aren't getting held up, so that gives us an advantage. We've got a pretty good power play.

We try to approach the end of the quarters on a high note, and that can be a great defensive stand or a good offensive opportunity. The biggest thing about penalties and power plays, it's all momentum. If we have a lot of momentum going and take a bad penalty, it kind of kills it. It sends the swing of things back to the other team. Certainly, staying out of the box is going to help your chances.

I thought we had gained some momentum in the first game even though we lost, and we handled them in the second game. Going into the third game, I told the girls we have them. We were up and they were down. But it is just a funny game the way it changes around like that. The momentum just swings.

We had just lost eight of nine, or something like that, and now we've won three in a row. It's important to go into the playoffs with momentum. We're feeling good about ourselves. It's important for us to finish these three games out playing well so when the playoffs come, we do have some momentum and we're ready to play.
