en I feel like, on the whole, I keep improving. I'm not being funny, but earlier this year, I didn't even know enough to know where my defensive weaknesses were.

We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

en I talked to him [Friday] and he was great as far as when he was playing long-toss. I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Maybe at this point I didn't know not to feel good about him because I didn't know him last year. But knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just what he's volunteering this year and just the way he's moving around, I just sense that he's feeling a lot better about himself physically.

en I didn't feel like it was a necessity because I had won tournaments earlier this year, ... but I felt it was a necessity to play well.

en It's funny because I played offensive guard in high school, ... I didn't move to defensive end until I came to Valley.

en The defensive intensity has been a lot better. It's been more consistent throughout the game. We haven't had too many lapses on defense like we had earlier in the year.

en I didn't feel my best. It's funny, I've never had a groin injury. They're kind of nagging. They don't hurt; you just feel a lack of strength. I've talked to a few buddies, and it appears that it's a trend around the league right now.
