We went ahead by two at halftime and then played the best half of basketball than we have all year long. We've been executing much better today and that's been encouraging.

We felt real good where we were at halftime being up by three with Benny hitting that shot. The second half has been ours all year. The kids have done an excellent job of executing and playing great defense in the second half.

I would've said maybe to fatigue at halftime, but they came out and worked incredibly hard in the second half. So they couldn't have been tired. We played one half of soccer today. Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. At halftime I said we've played three really good halves of basketball. We didn't get that fourth half.

At halftime, I got on them a little bit. We weren't playing smart basketball. We have a lot smarter players than they played in that first half. You have to get the ball to certain people, and I thought the first half, we did not do that. The second half, we looked to get the ball in the right people's hands.

I was pleased with the adjustment we made at halftime. I was also pleased with our ability to compete on the basketball floor in the second half. That was something we had to do. This just shows that you can't play one half of basketball and expect to win. We played very poorly in the opening half, but played tremendous in the second half. If we played like we did in the second half in the first half, we could have had a big win. But, you can't afford to dig yourself a hole like we did.

It's been a long time since we won. We got behind at halftime, but played much, much better in the second half. We still had our lulls, but we kept our heads up.

We just didn't execute the way we were used to executing all year long. Give Pittsburgh credit. They played hard. They played well enough to win this football game. I just felt like we made some uncharacteristic mistakes.

Like Katie said, it did feel good to be ahead at halftime, but we always seem to have one bad quarter each game and a lot of that is due to a lack of depth, and being ahead at the half shows that we have improved.

It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we played Hazleton basketball and it was kind of like a boxing match in the first round, each team trying to get a feel for the other. Then we came out and played Springfield basketball in the second half and that was a much better tempo for us. We picked up the intensity on defense and got the ball inside on offense.

We're having so much fun, it's not like we're in a situation where we're nervous or have any kind of fear. These guys have played basketball their whole lives. They enjoy being with each other and enjoy executing the plan on the court. And as long as we can just continue to do that, anything is possible.

We played our worst half since I've known these seniors. I've coached them since third grade and I challenged those seniors at halftime. Greenland basketball is about tradition and they see that each day with the banners on the gym wall.
