But now we're starting to see some continuous backup products out on the market...things where we just keep track of changes and keep multiple generational backups--being able to establish a recovery time objective.

Tape is here for a long time to come. Very few users are completely abandoning tape despite growing interest in D2D and virtual tape. It has a definite future in backup and archiving.

We may eventually see smaller libraries, as it is no longer the case that everything is going to tape. But there is so much data these days that there is room for both tape and disk to grow.

We are observing a definite trend of hundreds of terabytes of tape library being replaced with disk, ... These companies were permanently replacing, not augmenting tape.
