I know, and I think everyone in our party knows, that Twinkle in no way favors gambling in our state. I hate that she and her family has to suffer because of this.

First of all, and Twinkle knows this, if you're in the public eye your are going to be criticized and certainly she's strong enough to take the criticism. I've worked with Twinkle on campaigns, on women's issues throughout the state and as a member of the Alabama Federation of Republican Women, and there is no one in Alabama politics that I admire more than Twinkle Cavanaugh.

He violated the Michigan gambling law that which regulates the use of gaming and casinos in the state. Essentially, by being on his computer placing a bet and gambling while in the state of Michigan, he went against Michigan statute, which regulates and controls gambling.

Steve was a devoted Republican and member of the Illinois Republican Party who worked hard to build our state organization and advance its principles. He served our state party well with his leadership, passion and hard work. He will be greatly missed.

We've never really seen that strong of a level of support for gambling in the Southwestern part of the state. I don't think the city will have much of a love affair with gambling.

There are always going to be those who, rather than draw attention to their candidate's shortcomings, prefer to tear down our quality party leaders and Twinkle is a quality person. We definitely need her as our Republican Party chairman. She's a strong leader and a fair leader and that's what we need.
