en It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. en In games like this, if your guy makes a play, you win. If their guy makes a play, they win. You've got to step up and make those type of plays. That fell into the category of finding a way to win.

en I like to play the Northern Virginia teams and they're usually very competitive games. I commend the coaches who want to play these games. Coach Lake is doing the right thing. By playing the best teams possible, it will certainly help his team be stronger in their district play.

en I really like Andy Kennedy. He's a great guy, but he's going to have the tag of 'interim coach,' which makes it virtually impossible to recruit. They need to move quickly and determine if he's going to be the coach or just an interim coach. You can't do recruiting on a permanent basis, because kids aren't going to make a commitment if they don't know who they are going to play for.

en I can't say enough about (James). She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her laugh without trying to be funny. He makes me look like I can coach. He waved me off so many times, called a play and got us over the hump. I should've just sat down and just let him get his triple-double and coach the team.

en I think he got more confidence with the style of game we play here, and it really prepared him for the NHL. He's a guy that a coach can count on in all types of situations.

en Typically a person will play six to eight different games in a day, and normally there are two or three different types of games being played at the same time. It?s a tradition. If you are going to come at 11 a.m. and end up leaving at 2 in the morning, you are making time for this. People make an effort to come.
