en We ran into a well-pitched game. After Ramon's homer, we really didn't create anything. That's the way it's been over the last couple of months.

en Jon pitched well. He gave up a two-run homer in the first but he settled down after that and kept us in the game.

en He's a heck of a player. He saw an alley and he took it. Ramon had a great game as well. We lost him a couple of time in our zone.

en We put her in a hole a few times, and she pitched us out of a couple tough jams. She pitched an excellent game, and it's a nice start (to the season).

en I still have him penciled in as the starter for Thursday's game, .. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. . There's been a couple of times this year when I didn't think he was going to start, and he started, and he's pitched well.

en We're right down to the end of the season, and he hasn't pitched in a couple of months.

en What we've said all along is what the MRI, we thought, confirmed yesterday. We think Ramon probably is going to need surgery. But the MRI yesterday did not change our status that Ramon, if he's fairly comfortable and can play with the pain he's got, he should be able to play. But only Ramon knows how that feels.

en After that first inning, Ramon settled in and pitched really well the next five innings. And we played solid defense behind him. We just couldn't get anything going on offense.

en I pitched OK. I didn't pitch exceptionally well, but I didn't think I pitched five runs poorly. The bottom line is we won the game. I can't say enough about how we played as a team. One of the reasons I came here was the way our team plays, and you saw that (yesterday).

en The last couple of months he's pitched multiple big games for us. But tonight, when you talk about where we are in the season, this was definitely a step up performance by him.
